Safety is a 24/7 commitment. That commitment starts with you on a personal level. You don't show up to work and become a safety-minded person. It has to be a part of who you are. We want each employee at Pace to create a Personal Safety Pledge by the end of this year. A Personal Safety Pledge is where you look at your life and determine things that you do regularly that are unsafe and write them down. Share your personal safety pledge with family, friends, and co-workers. By caring for and holding each other accountable we will create a safety 24/7 culture.
Pace is working to improve our Health and Wellness Culture to a more proactive one. So many people wait until they have a medical emergency and just react to health and wellness. We want to strive to be proactive with Health Risk Assessments (HRAs), wellness checks, developing an active life style, and helping our family members in stopping tobacco use. It only takes a little effort to become proactive in your health.
Marinating a good company culture is a challenge. The foundation is a written Mission, Vision & Values statement. We challenge you to live by these values each day, focused on our mission and vision. Together, we can continue to build our culture and be a company for whom people want to work.
A Jr High Perspective on Health & Safety
Safety affects all age groups. Students at Washington Jr High in Bentonville Arkansas researched and presented on three of Pace’s Health & Safety Polices. They looked at either our Safety, tobacco, or mobile electronic device policy. Click here to see their submissions.
The annual Health Risk Assessments (HRA) will be February 10-21 2015.
All completed HRA results will be mailed out within 10 days of the screenings. We have contracted Bravo Wellness to run our HRA program. Healthstat will continue to run our Wellness Centers and will be a tool for you to use in your wellness journey. We will continue to work on our Health and Wellness culture in 2015. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please contact your local HR department or use the suggestion box at the bottom right.

Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable illness and death in the United States. It causes many different cancers as well as chronic lung diseases such as emphysema and bronchitis, heart disease, pregnancy-related problems, and many other serious health problems. Tobacco use can lead to nicotine dependence and serious health problems. Cessation can significantly reduce the risk of suffering from smoking-related diseases. Tobacco dependence is a chronic condition that often requires repeated interventions, but effective treatments and helpful resources exist. Smokers can and do quit smoking. In fact, today there are more former smokers than current smokers. Visit http://betobaccofree.hhs.gov for more information.
